Hazel Virginia Gray: Hazel passed away Friday afternoon, May 6, 2005 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 24 days. Hazel is survived by her sister, Lottie Longcor of Beacon, IA and several nieces and nephews. Hazel Virginia Gray, daughter of Aaron Addison & Lettie Mae Chilcote Gray, was born Feb. 12, 1925 in Mahaska County. Hazel lived in Phoenix, AZ most of her life, she worked at several area restaurants as a waitress and the Humana Hospital in dietary. Hazel was well known for her delicious chili. In 2002 she moved to Loveland, CO to be near family and for the last 6 months has been living in Eldon, IA with her nephew and his wife. Hazel attended the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon. She loved animals, especially dogs; after her dog died, she adopted three lost cats. Hazel also enjoyed fishing, growing flowers and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Nellie Edwards Kelley, Ethel Hols, Opal Long and Clara Gray in infancy; and a bother, Alfred Gray. PDF Printable Version
