Marie Edna Robertson

December 10, 1916 - September 17, 2004

Marie Edna Robertson: Marie passed away Friday morning at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 7 days. Marie is survived by her husband, Leland of Oskaloosa; and her children and their spouses: Merlin and Betty Robertson of Oskaloosa and Cynthia and David Smith of Oskaloosa. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Julie (Larry) Lappe of Carlisle, IA; Scott (Kris) Robertson of Fremont, IA; Rev. Joshua (Kris) Robertson of Spencer, Indiana; Charles Smith of Indianapolis, IN; Timothy (Kim) Smith of Pella, IA; and Pamela(Chad) Walters of Oskaloosa. She was also blessed with 15 great grandchildren. Marie Edna Robertson, daughter of Oliver and Erma Coles Wright was born on Dec. 10, 1916 in Caledonia, ND. After she graduated from Caledonia High School in 1936, she then moved to the Grinnell, Iowa area and later to the Oskaloosa area. She married Leland Joshua Robertson on Jan. 16, 1942 in Lancaster, MO. Marie was a homemaker while her children were at home; later, she worked in the laundry and housekeeping departments at Mahaska Hospital. She retired in 1979. Marie enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family, especially the many camping trips they took together. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Martha Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers: Nathan, Marion & Oliver Wright and four sisters: Leota Baker, Ida See, Dorothy Hunter and Bernice Galloway. PDF Printable Version
