Marybeth D. Hoffman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Marybeth D. Hoffman: Marybeth passed away Sunday morning at Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 8 days. Marybeth's memory is honored by her daughter and son: Suzanne Fackler of Pahrump, NV and Nicholas E. Hoffman of Chariton, IA. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren: John Buckman and Paul Buckman of Vine Grove, KY; James Buckman of Pahrump, NV, and Laura & Kelli Hoffman of Washington, IA; and 8 great grandchildren. Marybeth Hoffman, daughter of Edward & Gladys Bowen Deaver was born in Beacon, IA on November 7, 1924. She was a member of the Class of 1942 at Oskaloosa High School. She was united in marriage to Jack Hoffman on Nov. 8, 1942 in Lancaster, MO. After Jack was discharged from the service in 1945, the family moved to Vine Grove, KY where Jack worked at the Fort Knox Combat Shop. There she attended the University of Louisville & was lacking a few credits from having a degree in Psychology. They lived in Kentucky for 28 years before returning to Beacon. Marybeth was an excellent cook, and loved making jam and jelly; she was always bringing food to someone. She was an avid reader; she enjoyed genealogy, BINGO and traveling, especially to see her grandchildren. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack on Aug. 28, 1996 and two brothers, Ralph and Wilbur Deaver. PDF Printable Version
