Odra Fisher: Odra passed away Tuesday morning at Carroll Manor at the age of 80 years , 5 months and 6 days. Odra is survived by her children: a son and daughter-in-law, Robert ""Dean"" & Linda Fisher of Carroll, IA and their children: Robert (Tiffany) Fisher of Phoenix, AZ and their children: Bobbi, Andi & Zachary; Bambi (Tim) Robinson of Ankeny and their children: Alexa & Jayden; a daughter and son-in-law, Roberta & Ernie Van Dusseldorp of Chillicothe, IA and their children: Jeff Van Der Veer & a special friend, Nancy of Beacon; Justin (Kelly) Van Der Veer of Oskaloosa and their daughter, Emily; Jason (Alicia) Van Der Veer of Chillicothe and their children: Travis, Amanda & Conner; Rebecca (Terry) Gott of Chillicothe and their children: Ryan & Matthew; Rachelle (Todd) Deeter of Baxter, IA and their children: Brittany, Leah, Preston & Victoria; a daughter & son-in-law, Joyce & Duane Huyser of New Sharon, IA and their children: Jeremy (Stacey) Huyser of Scranton, PA and their children: McKenna & Cooper; Jillisa (Kevin) Welsch of Ankeny, IA and their children: Kellen & Connor; Jakab (Shaefen) Huyser of Oskaloosa and their children: Ethan, Zoe & Carter; a son & daughter-in-law: Gene & Linda Fisher of Iowa Falls, IA and their children: Todd Fisher of Iowa Falls and his children: Cody & Mandy; Heather (Brian) Thiesen of Iowa Falls and their children: Elizabeth & Colby; and McKenzie Fisher of Iowa Falls; two great great grandchildren: Brooke & Talon; five sisters: Sandra June of Muskogee, OK; Lois Fogle of What Cheer, IA; Phyllis Zickle of Pella, IA; Veda Zimmerman of New Sharon, IA and Kathryn Dunwoody of Polk City, IA; and six brothers: Charles Lowry of Oskaloosa; Thomas Lowry of Torrance, CA; Lavern Sanders of Grove, OK; Kenneth Sanders of Ankeny, IA and Carmen Sanders of Blue Springs, MO. Odra Cozine Lowry, daughter of Elmo and Mary Elizabeth Scott Lowry, was born July 20, 1926, in Mahaska County, Iowa. She attended Oskaloosa High School. She married Robert M. Fisher July 25, 1942 in Lancaster, MO. They were married 51 years, at the time of his death, May 10, 1994. They made their home in Oskaloosa, where Odra was a homemaker. When her children were older, she worked at the Continental Overall Factory for two years while acquiring the credits to become a nurse's aid. She was subsequently employed by Mahaska Hospital for several years as a nurse's aid. Odra was a member of the First Assembly of God. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing, fishing, and playing cards and Scrabble with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were a very special part of her life. Odra had resided in Carroll, Iowa for the past nine years. Odra was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sanders and her father, Elmo Lowry; her husband, Robert Fisher; sisters: Elaine Whitten and Letha Carnahan; and brothers: Gerald Lowry, Wayne Sanders, Millard Sanders, Marvin Sanders and Leonard Sanders.
